Former NBA star Mel Turpin was found dead inside his Lexington home last July 8, 2010.
According to the Washington Post, the coroner at the scene said that Mel had died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was 49.
Mel had attended the University of Kentucky before being drafted as the sixth overall pick of the Washington Bullets. In the 1984 NBA draft, he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The athlete’s full name is Melvin Harrison Turpin. During his stint at the NBA, he earned the nicknames “The Mealman” and “Dinner Bell Mel”.

Jackson holds the most number of NBA Championships by a head coach which stands at 11. Five came with Los Angeles Lakers (the latest being this season) and six came from Chicago Bulls. He also has two NBA championships as a player for New York Knicks in 1970 and 1973.
He also hold two other records: the highest regular-season winning percentage (19 seasons) at .705 and post-season record of .697.

Zvonareva Reaches Wimbledon Final
