T-Mobile on Thursday unveiled two new LG-built smartphones that will join the company’s lineup ahead of the holidays. The myTouch features a full touch form factor with a 3.8-inch display, a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, a 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video capture support, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. The myTouch Q features nearly identical specs, though the display drops down to 3.5 inches and the phone sports a physical slide-out keyboard. ”When moving to their first smartphone, customers want a simple and uncomplicated experience without compromising on quality,” T-Mobile SVP of marketing Andrew Sherrard said in a statement. “With the introduction of these new myTouch smartphones paired with our worry-free data plans and fast 4G network, we’re making it easier than ever to step up to 4G experiences.” Pricing and availability for the myTouch and myTouch Q have not yet been announced, but T-Mobile did say that the phones will be available in time for the holidays. Not that they were a particularly well kept secret, but T-Mobile is finally ready to show off its two newest Android phones that are aimed at first-time smartphone buyers. The 4G-capable myTouch and myTouch Q are everything the leaks indicated, with the former sporting a 3.8-inch touch screen and the latter coming home with a 3.5-inch screen (no word on the display tech used in either one) and landscape sliding QWERTY keyboard. Both run Android 2.3 out of the box on a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU and 5MP / 720p cameras, with the myTouch throwing in a front facing shooter for your video conferencing enjoyment. Both will be available in two different color schemes “in time for the holiday season” — check the press release after the break for the full rundown.

T-Mobile recently listed the myTouch and the myTouch Q, two unannounced smartphones, as “coming soon” on its website. The myTouch Q offers support for the carrier’s HSPA+ network and is equipped with a 1GHz processor, a 5-megapixel camera, a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard and a 1,500 mAh battery. The myTouch is nearly identical to the myTouch Q but does not offer a full QWERTY keyboard. Pricing and a specific launch date have not yet been revealed by T-Mobile USA, however TmoNews suggests the phones could launch as soon as November 2nd for $129.99 each. In any case, T-Mobile is sure to have a robust portfolio of devices in time for the holiday season as it prepares to enter battle as the last major carrier without Apple’s iPhone.
